“Why is Deth-Troy so high? He's too finicky as a backliner.”
Deth-Troy has very wide and powerful usage as a specialist. He has triple niches and does great offense damage against all 3 of them, especially Aku which is a relevant trait. The biggest factor though is his attack up combo with manic flying, which is easily one of the most broken and versatile cat combos in the game. It’s amazing as filler or used for integral parts of strategies, especially if you care about dojo where this combo can provide as your saving grace for higher scores. No other iron legion comes to Deth-Troy who has multiple strong niches and still delivers as a competent anti zombie, even if options like Thermae and Aethur are better specifically for that target.
“Why is Aethur above Drednot and Rekon Korps? Aren't the latter 2 way better generalists?”
Aethur is comparable to Thermae as an anti zombie while having an extremely powerful worker start level up combo with Courier, being one of the best combos in his field. Both of these niches being one of the best anti zombies and having one of the best money combos outweighs Drednots niche vs red/ zombie and Rekons general usage, especially for end/ post game when optimizing for stronger specialists becomes higher value. Speaking of, the money combo Aethur carries contributes to the play style preference of valuing speedy units, as Aethur technically contributes to beating stages fast.
“Why is Aethur above Thermae? I thought Thermae is the best anti-Zombie uber?”
Aethur is above Thermae because Aethur can match most of Thermae’s anti zombie performance while having huge combo utility. Both are extreme ended specialists while one offers more general and niche use with their combo. Thermae is still a better anti zombie, but to judge solely off of that is ignoring the combo that’s present in the big picture.
“Why is Rekon Korps so low? Aren't they a super powerful generalist nuker?”
His general usage is very powerful, however he has somewhat okay HP and rather long foreswing + okay attack rate which can make him finicky to use. For the most part, the main reason why he’s so “low” is because the other Iron Legions are simply more valuable specialists to have in end/ post game environment.
“Why is Thermae above Muu? Isn't Muu the ultimate anti-Zombie unit?”
This simply comes down to my preference of speed, as Thermae can very easily reach the frontliner in comparison to Muu, being more involved in killing zombies while still being slow enough and having long enough of a backswing to be viable as a base defender when needed. Thermae also has a few neat abilities such as freeze, strengthen, and soulstrike for some further utility at cleaning up zombies, compared to Muu who’s a base defender/ safety guard which is a bit less appealing in terms of play style preference.
